When creating an Ubuntu 16.04 vm from an ISO file, on saving the vm after clicking the button "Customize Settings" in the setup dialog, I get the error message
Easy Install preparation failed.
Could not create the ISO used to store Easy Install settings. If this error persists, you may need to reinstall VMware Fusion.

The error persists, even after reinstalling VMware Fusion.
VMware Fusion 10.1.6
On the web there is nearly nothing to find on this issue.
Does anyone know how to resolve it?
